Makena C-103 would have been 5-star except the beds were extremely uncomfortable. We would not stay here again. This was our third time at Makena, each in a different unit. The location is excellent. It has a nice beach for swimming, snorkling, or hanging out, outside your front door. It is a little off the beaten path so not too crowded, but it is an easy drive into the city, Kihei. C-103 was well equiped and the photos matched reality. This unit had an exceptional abundance of pots, pans, bowls, and kitchen utensils. Note that the A and C buildings in Mekena get road noise in the back areas (typically the bedrooms), but it's not an issue at night, and was a minor issue for C-103. The big issue was the 3 beds. Each was soft and lumpy with deep depressions where people usually sleep. We tried a different bed each night, and eventually my wife and I had to sleep in separate beds so we each could find a reasonably flat and firm patch of mattress. With new beds, C-103 would be 5-star.

We love this location facing the lawn and near our favorite beach in S. Kihei. This was a great downstairs unit with easy lawn access for sunrise, sunset and to relax on a bench with ocean views. This is a vibrant lawn area with lots of people watching and walking distance to both Kihei and Wailea restaurants and shops. Quick and responsive hosts. Thank you.
