The heating for downstairs is from a large night storage heater. This proved inadequate past mid afternoon. Sowerby's were very responsive and delivered a convector heater which solved the problem.
I agree with a previous review, the parking could be an issue for some at this cottage. The space is in the corner and virtually impossible to get in/out of when the neighbour is parked a little to close or parallel to the space. We don't have a large car and ended up parking in a nearby street for the remained of our stay.
Also, take care on the railways sleepers adjacent to the gravelled parking area and the gate to the garden, they are not level. One of our group slipped and fell over on one.
The cottage had everything we needed and more. Also had the most comfortable bed ever! Already looking to book again!
