Suggestions would be to improve the privacy of each room. The northeast room had a sheer curtain that didn’t provide any privacy at night. People enjoying the covered patio could see into room which was inconvenience for guests sleeping in that room and wanting privacy.
One thing which wasn’t the hosts fault was being unaware of reservation system to hike Ha’ena trail. My wife and I have been to Kauai 2 other times hiked both times (before kids).
We were excited to show our two daughters this hike. We rented in this area for this purpose. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize new reservation system prior to coming and we were not able to hike due to having to make reservations and/or pay to take a shuttle ride (which costs extra)
Suggest that if you are considering north shore and even going to Kauai that you ensure you have reservations. Seems hard to get even 39 days out.
