Our working cocker spaniel loved the garden and we personally found it adequately secure for a dog who isn’t an escape artist. He was content to wonder the grounds and sniff about.
Troutbeck is lovely and peaceful - away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere and Ambleside with two lovely pubs in walking distance and a cafe too. There were lovely walks from the door and a short drive takes you to all the main Lakes attractions.
It’s single track roads to the property for around 2 to 3 miles so you need to take it slow and careful. We had beautiful weather for March - warm and sunny during the day and cool on a night - so we made good use of the wood burner on an evening and were so sad to be leaving.
