There is not a great deal in Fort Augustus, so be aware that you have 2 pubs (don't show Sky Sports for those who might wonder), a few gift shops and a couple of take away places.
The onsite restaurant was close for the season, so my one point is that it would be nice to have something onsite that is open, closer to home, so you don't have to go into town for a drink etc. I think an onsite bar or just keeping that place open in winter would be a great idea. That being said it is literally a 5 minute walk (if that) into town.
We had a power cut due to the storm for the last 40 hours or so, luckily we had a gas hob so were able to still have cups of tea and make some basic food.
Overall a wonderful time was had
The kitchen was nicely stocked with the basics utensils and cooking supplies but if you’re planning to prepare meals you’ll need to bring/buy all ingredients what you need which is to be expected. The town is very close and walkable. The grounds are beautiful.
