This was a great stay and experience!

older building, very friendly staff. was a little strange as we had to hand in the key every day, only one key for the place.
the suite was pretty old inside, but they had coffee etc already for us and the people that work there were super friendly.
some other things to be aware: it's right on the cable car line, you can hear the noisy tracks at night and the place has old radiators and the layout meant almost no ventilation (even though SF is always so windy). Overall was good, served us well for the week we spent there.

Helen, the Manager, was especially wonderful and friendly. She has the ability to make you feel as comfortable as if you were in your own home. Oscar was wonderful also, such a nice man was truly interested in hearing about our experiences in the city. Ana, Ted, Winston, whoever was at the desk (there was someone there at all times) we always felt welcome, at home and of course, safe. Our favorite of any of the staff though is Annie, the security guard. She was the friendliest of them all! Thank you Powell Place, we now consider you all our friends, and we will be back!
