The Cabin with New River Retreat was so clean and welcoming. It had everything you could need on your stay. We had issues with initial check in but after that, New River was quite helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay here again.

We brought in the new year of 2024 with family and the house was the perfect setting to enjoy the beauty of the new river and nature. The home had all the amenities and was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the checking out the downtown area, using the fire pit to make s’mores and even hiked part a bit of the Appalachian trail. No cell service at the home, but WiFi was good and allowed WiFi calling when needed. All in all a great place to enjoy.

Overall the cabin was as described. The area was very quiet and peaceful. Having easy access to the trail was very convenient. The kitchen was very well stocked with the essentials to host a large group. Lots a games and activities as well for adults and kids.

The cottage was a beautiful place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed riding the trail, and the open areas for our pup. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy the porch and the fire pit. The fireplace was wonderful to sit in the glider rocker and read a book.

The space was very much has described. Beautiful surroundings and peaceful. Reasonable distance to Wytheville and Draper where we found nice hikes, restaurants and local shops. The living area was well appointed, and the kitchen pretty well stocked for us to cook a couple meals. Porch area overlooking the river was very inviting and serene.
Unfortunately, there was the faint smell of cigarette smoke inside that never really seemed to go away. For some reason the icemaker was not working and there were no ice trays to make ice. For a couple that drinks ice water a lot and enjoys an evening cocktail this was inconvenient and disappointing.
